PROJECT SECURED – Park Wood Building, Kent Union for University of Kent in Canterbury

Great to hear Jenner (Contractors) Ltd have selected us as the glazing and cladding subcontractor for the Park Wood Building project on the University of Kent’s campus.

The design, created by Lee Evans Architects, is for a modern contemporary building using sustainable construction materials and incorporates a ‘living’ green wall. It will include a new convenience shop, social/study space and a new cafe – replacing ’Woody’s bar’ which was demolished to make room for the new development.

We have selected the Sapa Dualframe 75 Si windows, Sapa STII commercial doors and Sapa Elegance 52 curtain walling. We’re also installing internal fire rated glazed screens and Vitral Skyvision roof lights. The cladding is a mix of 8mm Trespa panels and Siberian larch kiln dried timber cladding.

The project is benefiting for our 'Integrated Facade Solution'. By contracting us to design, supply and install both the glazing and cladding elements on the building we have taken full responsibility for the entire external facade. This is aimed at reducing miscommunication between the various trades usually involved on a building's facade which can severely delay a project's progress.

The £3m project is due to be open in the autumn of 2018.
