The Eliot College extension is a two-storey administration building situated in ‘the heart’ of the University of Kent. Built in the 1980’s, the design of the building was similar to many others built on the campus around that time - including the original Eliot College building nearby.
The project was managed by DCB (Kent) Ltd and included upgrade works to mechanical and electrical systems as well as over-cladding the exterior and replacing the existing old defective metal sliding windows and wooden doors with a new, highly insulated, thermally broken system.
Following the tender process, Prima Systems were selected as the glazing and cladding partner for the project.
Kent-based facade contractor Prima Systems (SE) Ltd has promoted two of its long-standing team members to the Board of Directors with the aim of driving business growth and profitability.
Adam Coleman and Chris Jones - who are both long-standing members of the team - have become Technical Sales Director and Contracts Director respectively.Read More

bid application for improvements to the main building on campus. The Academy team enlisted the help of Modus Construction Consultants to help them define their requirements and compile the CIF application.
In order to strengthen the technical side of the application Modus requested a detailed façade investigation report from Prima Systems. This report assesses the condition of the existing façade and, where possible, provides advice on potential improvements. It also highlights any health and safety failings as well as non-compliant elements on the building.Read More

The £25 million restoration of Margate’s beloved Dreamland amusement park has finally been revealed following months of hard work. The transformation includes restored vintage rides, interactive art installations, delicious street food from around the world and a schedule full of live music and events.
The cast iron windows of the old Sunshine Café which overlooks Margate’s seafront have also been restored to their former glory. The work involved refurbishing the cast iron frames and upgrading the windows to double glazed.
A temporary art installation would also be installed on the ground floor. A standard shop front system was selected with single panes of toughened glass.Read More
