Prima have now successfully completed 4 phases of works at Bulmershe School, working for main contractor Dawnus Construction.
The project started as a typical school refurbishment contract replacing old defective crittall and timber storey glazing to the Art & CDT classrooms with new high performing aluminium. The initial phase consisted of white powder coated Sapa Dualframe window wall supplied by our fabrication partner Wynda Components. This was followed by further works installing new multi-storey height curtain walling to the main hall. This element was undertaken using Senior Architectural Systems SCW+ curtain walling and SPW500 doors manufactured by Window Logic.
A small additional phase of works to the hall was added with the installation of 2 further pairs of doors to match those installed on the front. This was then followed by a 2nd phase of works to the CDT and Technology Classrooms although this time the Sapa Dualframe window wall was finished in grey to match a recent new build that main contractor Dawnus Construction were undertaking opposite. In addition to the the glazing works Prima also undertook the installation of rain screen cladding to sit alongside the glazing (see photos). This has inspired Prima to look at the possibility of taking this product further and to offer more of our clients a complete integrated facade solution.
The latest phase of works which has just been completed was undertaking some minor alterations and refurbishments to the 6th form block.
So far the works undertaken have reached a total value of over £220,000.
