Work is progressing well at Norton Knatchbull School in Ashford as you can see from these photos sent in by our MD, Dean Halfpenny.
Phase 1 is now complete. The roofing works have been finished which means we can now put the final touches to the cladding works from phases 2, 3 and 4. We're also making good progress with the glazing elements on phase 4.
Our teams will install nearly 675m2 of cladding panels by the end of June. The cladding we have specified is a mix of grey, white and silver panels from both the Steni Colour range - a fibreglass reinforced polymer composite panel - and Rockpanel Xtreme range which has a rock wool based core with a surface coloured finish. Our cladding fabrication partner is BBS Facades.
For the glazing, we have selected Dualframe 75 casement windows, Stormframe STII high traffic aluminium doors and the Elegance 52 curtain walling system, all from Sapa Building Systems.
The Norton Knatchbull School project is benefiting for our 'Integrated Facade Solution'. Logan Construction have contracted us to design, supply and install both the glazing and cladding elements which means we are taking full responsibility for the entire external facade. This is aimed at reducing the likelihood of miscommunication between the various trades usually involved on a building's facade which can severely delay a project's progress. By the end of the project we are confident that we will have saved our client time, money and resources.
