An article on the Sutton Housing Partnership website (www.suttonhousingpartnership.org.uk) has revealed how the refurbishment project has improved the lives of the residents in the tower block.
We installed the windows and doors in the flats and also replaced the glazing in the stairwells and in the viewing gallery on the roof level.
According to the article, the new external facade has significantly improved the energy efficiency and environmental performance of the building. The energy rating at Chaucer House has been increased by approximately 25% from the original structure completed in the 1960s. The estimated annual carbon emission for a 2 bedroom flat has almost halved - this is a reduction from 2,889kg in 1965 to 1,531kg today, which is a substantial difference.
