In November 2015, Prima conducted a thorough assessment of the existing facade at The Canterbury Academy. The report highlighted many concerns regarding the condition of the building - both in terms of operating performance and health and safety issues.
The facade investigation report was included in the school's EFA funding bid application - which proved to be successful.
Work begun on site in May 2016 with the old steel "Crittall" style windows and doors being removed and replaced with Rehau PVCu windows and the doors replaced with Senior Aluminium Systems SPW500 thermally broken aluminium double doors.
